Among the five major rivers, the Seomjingang River is the cleanest in Korea. Along the river are three-kilometer long road along the National Road Lines 17 and 19 that runs between cherry trees. Since this cherry blossom road, which began to be built in 1992, runs along the Seomjingang River, you can drive your car while enjoying the beauty of spring. As there is not much traffic here, it is good for a walk and it is also popular as a marathon course. The Seomjingang River cherry blossom road was also selected as the '100 Most Beautiful Roads in Korea.'
In addition, the Seomjingang River is home to about 30 species of freshwater fish, including silver-colored sweet fish and blue crabs. Restaurants around the Seomjingang River serve sweet fish sushi and grilled dishes. Hot spicy soup made by boiling fresh water crabs is a favorite menu for many travelers visiting Seomjingang river.
